No, that assert is failing so rc != 0
This can be :
ENOMEM (out of memory?)
EINVAL (global has been nulled? - mem corruption)
ERANGE (index < 0) - Backtrace says it is 500

Might be worth running valgrind and checking the memory usage of the process.
