Hi Lars,

Got your point. Actually I changed the permissions of those log files back. In my case, it looks that moving the mysqld.pid location from /var/run/mysqld to /var/lib/mysql was the fix. Can you explain why?

Are you working for Linbit? I am looking for technical support contract for the cluster servers. This is our first cluster HA system. Once we can show it works well, we plan to build a few more clusters, specially a scalable storage cluster, to replace the existing Isilon cluster. Do your support HA clusters consisting of Pacemaker, heartbeat or corosync, drbd of course, and GFS2 or OCFS2? Which clustered file systems would you recommend to build an Isilon style storage cluster?

Sure. While at it, why not chmod 0666 /etc/passwd as well?
