Thanks for the reply.   I have created a LSB resource agent script that uses
"sed" to edit the /etc/inittab file for respawn/off, followed with an "init
q".

Sure you can't have Pacemaker control "/sbin/getty 9600 ttyS0" instead?
 Could be done with the "anything" RA perhaps?
